Men’s Imaging

The term men’s imaging is rarely if ever used in the medical imaging industry. At Southern Radiology we recognise the need for dedicated specialised services in this field.
The Southern Radiology Group proudly offers men preventative diagnostic testing as well as diagnostic studies for symptomatic conditions.

Prostate Imaging

According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia:

Each year in Australia, close to 3,300 men die of prostate cancer – equal to the number of women who die from breast cancer annually. Around 20,000 new cases are diagnosed in Australia every year. One in 9 men in Australia will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime1

1. The Prostate cancer Foundation – Prostate Cancer Studies

As with any cancer there is three ways to decrease the rate of death from prostate cancer: prevention; early detection and treatment, and successful treatment of advanced disease. At Southern Radiology we are working with prominent specialists in the field of prostate cancer to enhance diagnostic imaging specificity for detection and staging of prostate cancer.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) ….. is the leading cause of death in Australia, accounting for 34% of all deaths in Australia in 2006. Cardiovascular disease kills one Australian nearly every 10 minutes.2

2. The Heart Foundation Australia – Cardiovascular disease statistics
